Motif has been established to showcase and sell the range of exciting up to date stencils from artist, designer and author Henny Donovan. Henny's innovation in stencil design has done much to dispell the bad rep of 80's stencils, and her break-through signature range of oversize designs has brought the decorative possibilities of stencilling firmly into 21st century living and design.  The Motif website is the only outlet to purchase Henny's original stencils and stencil paints.

The Stencils

Each one of our designer stencils is unique to this website and designed and produced by Henny Donovan. Henny's stencil designs are based on closely observed, original drawings, or historical archives. All our pre-cut stencils are precision cut by laser on high quality, durable 125 micron mylar (semi-transparent polyester film). Suitable for repeated usage and gentle washing. Stencils are supplied with usage instructions to get you started. Each stencil design has its own page on this site, with inspiring photographs/graphics and full description, so you'll see how the design works and get some decorating ideas too. Stencil dimensions (up to .5 of a centimetre and 1/4 of an inch) are also given in the Specifications section to help with your decorative planning.

Motif deliveries - Changes to shipping days in March

Motif despatches will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays weekly until Friday 12th March 2010. In the last two weeks of March there will be a despatch on Friday 19th March and Friday 26th March due to staffing changes and a stencil business trip by Henny to New York during this time. Our personalized email confirmation service will also follow the same pattern. Normal deliveries will resume on Monday 29th March 2010. Apologies if we cannot help with those last minute, rushed orders in this time!

Delivery times

UK orders arrive 1- 2 working days after despatch, Europe 3 - 7 days and USA and rest of world 7 - 10 business days after despatch. Individual confirmation of despatch date is emailed to customers Mon-Fri - this is not an automated reply, as we prefer to email customers personally to confirm exact despatch dates and any other relevant information specific to your order. Orders received before 12pm UK time on day of despatch will go out that day, orders received after that time will go out in the next despatch.

Purchasing and shipping information:

When you shop with Motif online your order will be processed in complete safety through our secure payment page. Our shopping cart works out shipping to all worldwide and UK destinations. Prices are in UK pounds sterling and there are currency converter links to check dollar conversions etc throughout the site. 

Postage and shipping

Shipping is calculated on the weight of the item/s that you buy as well as the delivery destination - see our Information and Enquiries page for a breakdown of weight categories and costs. Small stencils are packaged in firm backed envelopes. All other stencil designs are packaged in robust and attractive silver tubes, making our stencils an attractive gift option. Larger orders of paints, equipment and books are individually packed for safe and best transportation to all destinations.

Stockists

All Henny Donovan designs and paints are unique to Motif and currently the Motif product range is only available through this website on a mail order basis - you can order through the shopping cart or over the phone on +44 (0) 208 340 0259.  We ship to all worldwide destinations three times a week.

Customizing Stencils

We only offer this service to larger companies and corporations as production costs are too high for individual designs - for information and price list for this service go to Bespoke Stencil Cutting.
