Multi Surface Paint

Please note: This product has now been discontinued. This page is for information only.

Multi Surface Paint (MSP) can be used indoors and outdoors to paint plaster, MDF, melamine, terracotta, stone, masonry, plastic, wood, decking, metal, brickwork and tiled surfaces in dry areas.  It is a non-yellowing, water based paint that resists flaking and peeling and can be used either for coverage or decorative work. It can also be tinted to any desired colour using Universal Tinters.  Please note: MSP only works as a temporary cover to ceramic tiles, but is not suitable for floor tiles or tiles around showers or baths which are subject to either heavy wear and tear, repeated washing or exposure to water. Try Ceramic Paints for permanent decorative results (oven bake tiles prior to wall mounting).  See below for more Multi Surface Paint product information and information about tile painting.

Further information
MSP does not require a separate undercoat or primer before application (except where staining has occurred).

MSP can be painted indoors or outdoors directly onto plastic, wood, decking, metal, galvanised metal, plastic coated steel cladding, brick and masonry, terracotta and stone, plaster, MDF, tiles and melamine.  Shiny surfaces should be keyed prior to application to ensure the paint bonds to surface being painted.

Use MSP to paint walls, radiators, doors, windows, cladding, floors, ceilings, furniture, kitchen cabinets, sheds, decking, trellis, pots, fencing, guttering.

Painting or re-tiling ceramic tiled areas
MSP works as a temporary cover for unsightly tiles, but will be subject to blistering and cracking if exposed directly to water, so is unsuitable for showers, baths and around sinks - or any surface submerged in water. Using economy wall tiles to re-tile over the existing tiles is cheaper and more effective and will give a permanent result.

MSP is not suitable for covering ceramic floor tiles, especially in kitchens, utility rooms, bathroom or shower rooms.  Using economy floor tiles to re-tile over the existing tiles is cheaper and more effective and will give a permanent result.
